HOME SWEET HOME
The Daemen University women's volleyball team returns to Lumsden Gym on Wednesday for a midweek non-conference match against longtime foe Le Moyne of the Northeast-10 Conference. This will be the 18th meeting between the Wildcats and the Dolphins in a rivalry that dates back to 1997. Daemen has won the last two matchups with Le Moyne (2019 and 2021), and owns a 6-1 record at home. The Wildcats are currently 6-3 against non-conference opponents this season, and have a 3-1 record over NE-10 opponents, with wins coming against Franklin Pierce, Saint Anselm and Bentley while falling to American International. On the season, the Wildcats have played well at Lumsden with a 5-1 record, winning their last four straight matches played at home in 3-0 sweeps.
SUCCESSFUL SEPTEMBER
The Wildcats enter Wednesday's matchup with a 10-3 record, and 4-0 in ECC play. Through 13 games, Daemen is out-killing its opponents 577 to 431 for a .229 hitting percentage, averaging 13.4 kills per set to 10.0 for their opponents. Two Wildcats have accumulated triple-digit kills on the season, with senior outside hitter
Maggie Burns (Louisville, Ky.) leading the charge with 108 (3.38 kills/set), and graduate student OH
Sam Logan (Eden, N.Y.) just trails with 100 kills on the year (3.03 kills/set). Defensively, the Wildcats average 17.2 digs per set compared to 14.9 for their opponents, and they average 11.8 assists/set compared to 8.8 from their opponents. Juniors
Olivia Alessi (East Aurora, N.Y.) and
Dunja Masic (McHenry, Ill.) have split setting duties this season, with Alessi averaging 9.24 assists/set and Masic averaging 8.68 assists/set. The Wildcats have amassed 93 aces on the season, averaging 2.2 aces/set, with Masic leading the way with 14 on the season but
Mickaley Monahan (Saline, Mich.) and
Vanessa Kuliga (Glenview, Ill.) right behind her with 13 aces a piece. Through four ECC games, Daemen leads the league in kills (173 total, 14.42 kills/set), hitting percentage (.264), assists (163 total, 13.58 assists/set), service aces (32 total, 2.67 aces/set) and digs (218 total, 18.17 digs/set).
NOTABLE HONORS
The ECC weekly awards keep on coming for Daemen. On Monday, sophomore right side hitter
Kate Ryan (Buffalo, N.Y.) picked up her first career ECC Player of the Week award for her 14-kill (4.66 kills/set) performance against Roberts Wesleyan last Wednesday. Ryan became the seventh Wildcat to be honored in the weekly conference awards this season. The Wildcats have garnered awards in each of the past four weeks, with Ryan becoming the third Daemen player to be named Player of the Week (Burns and Logan previously earned the award in Weeks 3 and 5, respectively).
CAN'T STOP SAM
Outside hitter
Sam Logan has been on fire on the court lately. In the last five matches, the 5-10 graduate student has five double-doubles (kills-digs), she's tallied 55 kills (3.66 kills/set) out of her 100 total on the season while only committing 10 errors, and she's added 54 digs (3.6 digs/set) in that time frame. Logan's hitting percentage over those five games is .357, a huge jump from the .090 she was hitting through the first seven matches of the season.

LE MOYNE DOLPHINS SCOUTING REPORT
Through 11 games this season, Le Moyne has posted a 5-6 overall record, and a 1-1 record in the Northeast-10 Conference, coming off a 3-0 loss to the University of New Haven on Saturday. The Dolphins have been out-killed 492 to 386 this season, with its' opponents averaging 12 kills per set compared to 9.4 for Le Moyne. 5-11 senior outside hitter
Madeleine Kennedy has played in every single set this season, and leads the Dolphins offensively with 96 kills on the year (2.34 kills/set). Freshman and Buffalo native
Haley Gerken serves as the primary setter for the Dolphins, averaging 4.85 assists/set, and also leads the team in aces with 18. Freshman middle blocker
Kayla Anstett and redshirt sophomore middle blocker and WNY native
Marie Rhodes lead the team at the net, combining for 62 of the team's 71 blocks on the year.
