AMHERST, N.Y. – Katie Titus (Penfield, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizing her combined achievements on the court and in the classroom.

Titus is one of five players from NCAA Division II East Region institutions to be named to the Academic All-District team. In the classroom, she carries a 3.90 grade point average while studying childhood and special education. On the court this winter, the 6-foot forward has been a key figure behind Daemen reaching double-figure wins for the seventh time in the last nine seasons (sixth consecutive). Titus is the first women's basketball player in Daemen's NCAA Division II era (2015-present) to garner Academic All-District honors.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter of important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, and they must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility with at least one full calendar year completed at his/her current institution. Those selected to the Academic All-District Team will advance to the Academic All-America selection process. The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team will be announced in mid-March.

Titus is averaging 19.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game and has finished in double-figure scoring 17 times (14 consecutive) for the nationally-ranked 15-3 Wildcats, who remain the only unbeaten team in East Coast Conference play at 13-0. Titus and the Wildcats currently have the longest winning streak in the NCAA Division II East Region at 13 consecutive games and have now won 22 consecutive games in conference play dating back to the start of the 2020-21 campaign. The senior forward leads the East Coast Conference in scoring, which also ranks third among all East Region players and 15th among all NCAA Division II players. She's recorded 20 or more points six times, including three 30-point outings, and has posted six double-doubles. Titus scored a career-high 38 points in a 97-83 victory versus Bridgeport on Dec. 12, 2021. The 38-point performance tied the record for most points scored in a single game in Daemen's NCAA era (2015-present.) In addition, Titus has been named a five-time ECC Player of the Week, a three-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week and was selected as the conference's Preseason Player of the Year for the 2021-22 campaign.

Today's announcement marks the first academic honor of Titus's career. Titus is a two-time first-team All-ECC selection (three times overall) and was named both the Most Valuable Player in the 2021 East Coast Conference Championship and the NCAA Division II East Regional Most Outstanding Player last season. The 2018-19 ECC Rookie of the Year award recipient, Titus stands as one of four players in program history to have 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks in a career. Titus currently ranks 11th all-time in career scoring (1,316), fifth in made three-point field goals (172) and first in free-throw percentage (.865.) Titus has led the Wildcats to a 70-21 overall record and a 50-6 ECC record over the last four seasons.

Titus was joined on the Academic All-District Team by Nicole Anderson of Saint Michael's College, Autumn Ceppi of Bentley University, Emily Miccile of Adelphi University and Lauren Schetter of Pace University.
