This was the Wildcats' first action after a non-conference clash with RIT (6-3 loss on April 3.) The blue-and-white have now won three of their last four matches, dating back to March 9. While Daemen served as the road team Sunday, graduate student Christina Stasiuk (Bowmansville, N.Y.) was honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the match as this marked the final match held in Western New York in her collegiate career. Stasiuk made the most of this special day as she won in second doubles with Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, Fla.) and later in second singles. Stasiuk passed Hayle Scanlan '17 to become Daemen's all-time leader in singles last weekend at RIT and today recorded her 49th career win in singles play. The veteran also currently stands second all-time in combined singles / doubles wins (87) – another feat she accomplished after moving past Gretchen Ringler '18 last weekend. Additionally, Stasiuk is still unbeaten in singles play this spring and improved to 10-5 in singles play on the year. She now has a team-high 20 combined singles / doubles wins this season. Today was D'Youville's first match as a program since October 26, 2021, a 7-0 loss to this same Daemen team to close the fall season. This win helped the Wildcats clinch the fourth and final spot in the 2021 East Coast Conference tournament. A final box score was not provided by D'Youville at this time.
