ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Daemen University women's basketball team is back on the road, playing in the nation's capital against the University of District of Columbia Firebirds on Saturday in a 1 PM matchup. The Wildcats come into Saturday's game with a 10-3 overall record and 5-2 record in East Coast Conference play, while the Firebirds are 9-9 on the season and 4-3 in ECC games.

LAST GAME OUT
Graduate student guard Paige Emborsky (Newfane, N.Y.) posted a career-high 19-points while shooting 7-of-12 (58-percent) from the field and 50-percent (3-of-6) from beyond the arc, but her outstanding efforts were not enough to stop the surging Saints as D'Youville pulled off the big upset with a 60-51 win over Daemen. D'Youville snapped an 18-game win streak for the Wildcats over their crosstown rivals that dated back to 1986. Freshman Claire Pikett (Holland, N.Y.) pulled down a career-high six rebounds and added two blocks and an assist, while sophomore forward Julia Hauer (Binghamton, N.Y.) totaled nine points, banking 4-of-10 from the field with two rebounds and two steals.

CAN'T STOP PAIGE
Emborsky was the Wildcats' top scorer for the 10th time this season on Tuesday with her 19-point outing, scoring in the double-digits for the 10th time on the year. The 5-foot-6 guard is averaging 12.8 points per game, and still leads all of Division II with a 60-percent three-point percentage on the year after banking 36-of-60 buckets from beyond the arc. Emborsky ranks third on the team in rebounding with 52 (4.0 rebounds per game).

D-D-D-DEFENSE
After 13 games, Daemen is ranked No. 7 in all of Division II for scoring defense. The Wildcats have given up just 701 points to opponents on the season, with Daemen's opponents averaging just 53.9 points per game. The Cats have held opponents to under 50 points in five games this season.

POLL POSITION
The Daemen University women's basketball team is ranked fourth in the East Region in the ninth Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Women's Basketball Regional Poll, as released on Monday. The Wildcats have been ranked in 43 straight regional polls, dating back to early January 2019.

STREAKING
After falling to D'Youville on Tuesday and snapping their 18-game win streak against the Saints, the Wildcats head into their second-longest active streak in Saturday's matchup with District of Columbia. Daemen has won nine straight games against the Firebirds, beating UDC in every match since Jan. 21, 2017.

SCOUTING THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FIREBIRDS
Coming into Saturday's game with a 9-9 overall record, the Firebirds have put together a 4-3 season in ECC play, and are coming off an 82-66 loss to Roberts Wesleyan on Monday. With only a nine-man roster, UDC has relied heavily on guards Destiny Ryles and Latavia Jackson, who have both scored 300+ points on the year. Ryles is shooting 41-percent from the field and boasts a team-leading 35-percent from three, and gets it done defensively as well, snagging 51 steals on the year. Jackson and sophomore guard Tori Williams combine for 267 of UDC's 733 total rebounds on the year. Williams leads the team with 13 blocks.
