FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's tennis team saw their fall season come to an end today following a 4-0 loss to top-seeded Queens College in the semifinal round of the
2023 East Coast Conference Championship tournament played at the Queens Tennis Center.
Daemen dropped to 5-7 on the season, while Queens remained unbeaten (8-0) on the season.
Queens swept all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, and secured the win after identical 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 5, No. 6 and No. 1 singles. With the dual match fully decided, the second, third and fourth singles matches were left unfinished.
Queens moves on to tomorrow's final round where they'll meet either second-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas or third-seeded District of Columbia. STAC is the defending tournament champion.
Daemen was making its fourth consecutive appearance in the conference tournament.
Daemen's 2023-24 season will continue during the Spring 2024 semester. The team's spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
