Abrahamson Courts on the Colgate campus. The Wildcats closed out the year with a record of 7-12. Colgate, a NCAA Division I member of the Patriot League, improved to 11-9. The match was played under NCAA Division I/II scoring rules and the Colgate claimed the doubles point after winning all three matches. Daemen's No. 1 singles team of senior Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) and junior Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) suffered a 6-3 loss to freshman Sophia Montero and sophomore Amelia Galin. Colgate also swept the six singles matches. The host Raiders took a 2-0 lead after freshman Gigi Bohan defeated junior Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, Fla.) at No. 3 singles. Colgate then earned the win after Rubio suffered a 6-1, 6-3 setback to freshman Carina Cristobal at No. 1 singles and junior Addie Ecklund defeated Scime at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Daemen sophomore Carley Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) battled sophomore Sasha Herman at No. 4 singles, with Herman posting a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory. MATCH NOTES The match marked the second all-time meeting between the two schools. Colgate also posted a 7-0 win over the Wildcats during the 2021-22 season. Scime closed out the year with a 15-7 singles record. It marks the second-straight year she has posted 15 singles wins, which ranks as the second most in a season in program history. Christina Stasiuk posted a program-record 18 wins during the 2017-18 season. Scime ranks fifth among Daemen's all-time leaders in career singles wins (38) and is now 33-14 in her last 47 singles matches dating back to the end of her freshman season. She also ranks fifth in career combined singles and doubles wins with 65. Rubio went 7-15 in singles play this year and ranks sixth in career singles wins (31) among Daemen's all-time leaders. Armitage posted seven singles wins (7-10) for the second straight year.
