Gaylor & Trueblood Named To Academic All-District Team

AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen University women's volleyball student-athletes Payton Gaylor (Bowmanville, Ont.) and Kate Trueblood (Granger, Ind.) have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District Team selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognizing their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. 

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have achieved a GPA of at least 3.50, and must have played in at least 90% of their team's games or started 66% of them. They also must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility with at least one full calendar year completed at their current institution.

Gaylor, a sophomore right side hitter and Health Science major, has maintained a 3.53 GPA. On the court, Gaylor appeared in 94 of a possible 96 sets this season, and established new career-highs in kills (197), digs (77), blocks (47) and points (225.5). She recorded 10+ kills in five matches this season, including a career-high 14 against Adelphi on Sept. 20. Gaylor ranked third on the team by averaging 2.10 kills per set. 

Trueblood is a junior middle blocker and Childhood Education major who holds a 3.82 GPA. She too enjoyed a career-best season on the court, appearing in 77 sets and totaling 61 kills, 11 service aces, 27 digs and 48 blocks - all career-bests. Trueblood recorded at least three blocks in 10 matches this season, including a career-high six against Indiana (Pa.) on Sept. 5. She ranked third on the team by averaging 0.62 blocks per set. 

Both Gaylor and Trueblood helped Daemen post a 12-14 overall record, and an 8-4 mark in East Coast Conference play while advancing to the semifinal round of the ECC Championship tournament.
