AMHERST, N.Y. -- Jasmine Brundage (East Aurora, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's volleyball team has been named the 2024-25 East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Scholar Athlete of the Year, recognizing her combined achievements on the court and in the classroom, the league announced on Monday afternoon. All ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipients hold at least a 3.30 GPA, are a starter or key reserve, and have reached at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically.

One of just three players to start all 26 matches for the Wildcats this season, Brundage played in all 105 sets this season and finished second in the ECC with 449 total digs (4.28 digs per set) en route to earning her third ECC Libero of the Year honor as well as First Team All-ECC honors. The graduate student was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East Region Second Team as well as American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) East Region honorable mention team in her final year as a Wildcat. Along with 449 digs, Brundage totaled 127 assists, 45 aces and led the team with a 92.9% reception percentage with 492 total receptions and just 35 reception errors on the year. She tallied double-digit digs in 25 of 26 matches this season, and totaled 20+ digs in seven matches, including a season-high 28 digs twice (vs. Maryville on Sept. 7, vs. Elizabeth City State on Sept. 20).

Over her five-year Daemen career, Brundage ranks fourth all-time in digs, totaling 1,856 as well as finishing fourth in the Daemen record books with 4.48 digs per set all-time. She helped the Wildcats to four consecutive ECC regular season titles and trips to the East Region Tournament in each of the past four seasons. Brundage helped Daemen to its first ever East Region title and a trip to the Elite Eight in 2021. She is the only Daemen player to ever earn ECC Libero of the Year, and she did it three times over her career (2024, 2023, 2021). A two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree and two-time AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honoree, Brundage carried a 3.84 GPA as a graduate student in Daemen's childhood education program.

Brundage and the Wildcats closed out the 2024 season with a 17-9 overall record and a 9-3 record in ECC play. Daemen won their fourth consecutive ECC regular season title, sharing the championship with Queens College (9-3). Daemen advanced to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament for the fourth straight season and sixth time in program history but fell to seventh-seed Georgian Court in the regional quarterfinals, 3-2.

This is the sixth consecutive season that a Daemen student-athlete has been named an ECC Scholar Athlete for their respective sport.
