The Wildcats pulled away with a decisive 24-8 third quarter, capitalizing on 29 turnovers by Queen's to score 36 points off turnovers. The team also showcased a strong presence inside, outscoring the Knights 40-26 in the paint. IMPACT PLAYERS Ne'vaeh Buntley (Rochester, N.Y.) scored 22 points and recorded four steals and five rebounds. Claire Pikett (Holland, N.Y.) tallied 19 points and contributed five steals while grabbing six rebounds. Brianna Caliri (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 11 points and collected nine rebounds. Kyleigh Chapman (Canandaigua, N.Y.) contributed defensively with five steals while logging three assists. Morgan White (New Carlisle, Ind.) posted nine points, two assists, and one steal. INSIDE THE BOX SCORE Daemen began the first quarter by establishing an early rhythm, with Buntley contributing a 3-pointer assisted by Shyla Montgomery (Brockton, Mass.). The team capitalized on turnovers, forcing six and converting them into nine points, including a fast-break layup from Montgomery at 7:07. The Wildcats maintained pressure throughout, with Buntley adding crucial points in the paint. The quarter ended with the score tied at 17-17. Daemen began the second with a strong defensive stance, highlighted by Sophie Auer's (Lewiston, N.Y.) early layup to take a lead. Buntley added a three-pointer, extending the pressure that led to multiple turnovers from the Knights. The defense was notable, forcing eight turnovers and making six steals, which fueled their offensive opportunities. The Wildcats capitalized on second-chance points with eight offensive rebounds, allowing Caliri and others to keep the pressure on. In the closing minutes. Daemen ended the quarter leading 36-26. The Wildcats opened the third quarter by extending their lead, starting with Montgomery's early layup and Pikett's 3-pointer at 8:54. The Knights managed a brief response with a 3-pointer, but Daemen's defensive efforts, including six steals and three blocks, stifled any significant comeback attempts. A late 3-pointer by White at 2:03 and subsequent free throws by Pikett solidified their advantage as the Wildcats led 60-34 heading into the final quarter. Buntley opened the fourth-quarter scoring with a jumper, pushing the lead to 62-34. Daemen's defense was formidable, forcing six turnovers and securing five steals, which fueled their transition game. White contributed significantly, scoring seven points, including a pair of free throws at 4:38 to extend the lead to 70-37. Caliri added critical points in the paint, finishing with a layup at the 20-second mark for an 81-43 advantage. The quarter closed with Daemen outscoring the Knights 21-9. GAME NOTES Buntley recorded her third game with 20-plus points this season. Her four steals were a career-best Chapman logged her third game with five or more steals. Caliri's nine rebounds marked a season-high as she fell just short of her first career double-double. White's nine points tied her career high. The Wildcats shot 46.2% from the field. Daemen held the Knights to 32.7% shooting, including a 14.3% mark from three. The Wildcats scored 36 points off 29 Queens turnovers. Daemen's defense logged 22 steals and three blocks in the game. The 22 steals are the second most in a game this season. The 39-point margin is Daemen's largest margin of victory this season. The Wildcats have now won 15 straight games against Queens.
