Smolnik Named ECC Bowler of the Week and Rookie of the Week 10/8/2026 1:00:00 PM By: CONTACT: Connor Griffin, Assistant Director of Athletics Communications | cgriffin@daemen.edu AMHERST, N.Y. — Daemen women's bowler Kenzie Smolnik (Rochester, N.Y.) earned two ECC weekly honors, announced by the conference on Thursday. Smolnik was named ECC Rookie of the Week and Bowler of the Week by the conference following her performance at the Mercyhurst Invitational last weekend. The freshman helped the Wildcats post a 6-3 record and place third at the Mercyhurst Invitational last weekend. She made the all-tournament team and led the team with a 198 Average. On the first day, during traditional play, the freshman helped the Wildcats defeat Mercyhurst and Hilbert. During Baker Format action on Day 2, Smolnik helped the Wildcats claim wins over ECC foes Roberts Wesleyan and D'Youville, as well as William Smith twice, including in a Baker best-of-seven match. Daemen concurrently holds a 6-3 record. The Wildcats are back in action next weekend (Oct. 17-18), competing at the Kutztown Golden Bear Invite.
