AMHERST, N.Y. - The
14th Annual Wildcat Golf Classic will take place on Monday, July 27 at Pendleton Creek Golf Club in North Tonawanda, the Daemen University Division of Athletics announced today.
The event will feature a 12 p.m. shotgun tee time, with accommodations for up to 144 golfers. In addition to a full 18-hole round of golf at one of Western New York's finest golf courses, participants can expect driving range and putting green access, tee gifts, lunch and dinner prepared by the on-site Pendleton Creek Pub, as well as beverages and other fun activities on the course. The tournament is played under a traditional four-man scramble format. No handicaps are needed for participation.
"The Wildcat Golf Classic offers a tremendous opportunity for alumni, friends, family members and corporate partners to come together in support of Daemen's incredble student-athletes," said
Traci Murphy, vice president for athletics at Daemen. "Money raised at this event helps provide them with a first-rate collegiate experience, supporting essential services, facility enhancements and more. Don't miss your chance to join the excitement and be a part of our shared success."
Registration is open for golfers with an early bird pricing structure of $160 per golfer ($640 per foursome), good until June 26. After that date, the price raises to $185 per golfer ($740 per foursome). Participants must be registered and fully paid (via check or credit card) by June 26 to lock in the early bird rate. The tournament has sold out or been near capacity in each of the last several years, so act fast to reserve your spot in the field.
The tournament also includes
varying sponsorship levels, ranging in price from $10,000 to $200, for anyone seeking a more corporate experience for themselves or area businesses. Donations of gift certificates, sports equipment, game or event tickets and merchandise for use as event prizes will be accepted as well.
Funds generated from the event support Daemen Athletics' yearly operating budget and special projects and initiatives meant to enhance the overall student-athlete experience. For example, in recent years, money raised through the Wildcat Golf Classic has been used to offset the cost of outfitting and branding new team locker rooms, various branding enhancements to the Lumsden Gymnasium lobby and the new Royal Park complex, the installation of a new Hall of Fame display, and the construction of a new student-athlete performance center.
