ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Daemen University men's cross country senior Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) finished fifth overall as the Wildcats placed ninth out of 18 teams on Saturday at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational. It marked the second consecutive top-10 finish for Keating this season, who placed third in Daemen's season opening Doug Watts Open on Sept. 5.

Daemen finished ninth with a team score of 244 on the day. Host Roberts Wesleyan won their home race with a team score of 43 after placing all five scorers in the top 15. 

Keating continues to impress in his senior season, finishing fifth out of 244 runners with a PR time of 25:31.0, 25 seconds faster than his previous 8K PR of 25:56.2 set at the 2025 Highlander Invitational. The senior was the lone Wildcat to place in the top 30 in the race. 

Senior CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) was the second Wildcat runner to cross the finish line, placing 38th overall with a time of 26:39.5. Sophomore Simon Evans (Galway, N.Y.) finished third on the team and 26th overall at 26:47.6. Running his first career 8K, freshman Ryan Weller (Farmington, N.Y.) placed 67th overall and fourth on the team, finishing with a time of 27:10.0. Sophomore Andre Kannisto (Boston, N.Y.) rounded out the Wildcat scorers with a time of 29:05.8 to place 164th. 

Senior Brad Tobin (Hamburg, N.Y.) finished 172nd with a time of 29:16.9. Freshman Mike Gregoire (Amherst, N.Y.) placed 185th at 29:34.6, and sophomore Brendan Smukall (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished 207th with a time of 30:40.7. 

The Wildcats return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y.
