Biography

2024 (SOPHOMORE)
Raced in all seven of the team’s meets in 2024... Finished as one of Daemen’s top seven runners in all seven meets… At the Doug Watts Open, he led all Wildcats with a 14th-place finish and a time of 20.51.9… At the Daemen Alumni Invitational, he was the second Wildcat to cross the finish line, earning him a seventh-place finish with a time of 27.27.1... He led the way once more for the Wildcats at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational where he finished 49th out of 334 runners and set an 8K PR of 26.22.5, improving by 31.6 seconds from his previous time recorded at the ECC Championship in 2023… Finished 163rd and second on the team at the Paul Short Run with a time of 27.03.7…Finished third on the team in back-to-back meets where he earned a time of 27.59.1, good for 50th at the Canisius Alumni Classic and 27.27.0, good for 16th at the ECC Championships... At the NCAA Division II East Region Championship, he wrapped up his sophomore season with a 10K PR of 33.08.8, crossing the finish line second for the Wildcats, earning him a 40th place finish.

2023 (FRESHMAN)
Raced in all seven of Daemen's meets this season... set personal bests in six races... finished as one of the top Daemen runners in three meets... made his collegiate debut at the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational where he placed fourth on the team and eighth out of 79 runners overall with a 6K PR time of 21:04.7... set an 8K PR time of 28:33.0 as the fifth straight Wildcat runner to cross the finish line with a fifth place finish out of 19 at the Daemen Alumni Invitational... set a PR 8K time of 27:12.5 at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational where he placed 25th of 175 runners and sixth on the team, shaving one minute and 21 seconds off his PR set at the Daemen Alumni Invitational... followed up with his fourth consecutive PR at the Highlander Invitational where he placed 33rd out of 151 with a personal best time of 27:09.7... finished 80th out of 142 runners with a time of 28:19.0 at the Canisius Alumni Classic where the Wildcats practiced speedwork and running as a team in their final regular season meet... set his fourth 8K PR of the season with a time of 26:54.1 as he placed 15th out of 62 runners at the ECC Championships as he helped the Wildcats to a second-place team finish... set a 10K PR of 33:42.8 as he finished 60th out of 136 runners and fifth on the team at the NCAA Division II East Region Championships where he helped the Wildcats to a program-best fourth place team finish. 

BEFORE DAEMEN
Competed in track and cross country for the Wooster Generals under the guidance of Doug Bennett... ran cross country for all four years in high school, and competed on the track team for three years... earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-County for the final three years of high school... was a regional qualifier in both his junior and senior seasons... helped lead the Generals to a 2021 Cross Country Ohio Cardinal Conference championship... earned NSDA Academic All American... was a member of the National Honor Society... also participated and speech and debate, drama club, band and choir at Wooster.

PERSONAL

Born Ethan Clarence Keating on August 18, 2005 in Wooster, Ohio... son of Adam and Kristin Keating... has two older brothers, Tyler and Zach Keating... eldest brother Tyler plays collegiate lacrosse at the Illinois Institute of Technology... hobbies include disc golf, running and pickleball... majoring in Physical Therapy... chose to attend Daemen because "it is the perfect fit both academically and athletically, and it felt right as soon as I stepped on campus."
