ADMINISTRATION ROLE
The role of the Department of Athletics Administration is to support the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in their day-to-day responsibilities. All members of the administration should be accessible to any member of the Daemen College Community. The Administration will ask all Department of Athletics members (student-athletes, coaches, staff) - what have you done today to help us win? If this question is asked of oneself each and every day, Daemen College will be able to sustain success for years to come.
STRATEGIC PLAN
The Daemen College Department of Athletics has been working to develop and follow an Athletics Strategic Plan to help narrow the focus of the College and the Department of Athletics into main goals. The Daemen College Athletics Strategic Plan was developed to encompass both the institutions overall strategic plan and the need to implement the philosophy, regulations and programs of a NCAA Division II member. Moving the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) program from the NAIA to NCAA Division II supports the College’s mission of providing a comprehensive program of learning and development. As such the main goal of the Athletics Strategic Plan is to map out the necessary actions to achieve NCAA Division II status and become a successful NCAA Division II member. This Athletics Strategic Plan outlines this through six main goals:
1. Governance & Rules Compliance
2. Staffing & Sports Sponsorship
3. Facilities
4. External Relations
5. Student-Athlete Experience
6. Sustainability
VISION
The vision for the Daemen College ICA program is that student-athletes and athletics will thrive in NCAA Division II and compete in conference and national postseason tournaments within five years of becoming an active member. With the necessary administrative support, Daemen College will develop and expand programs that will enhance not only the Department of Athletics, but also the College as a whole. Daemen College student-athletes will serve their team, their College, their conference, and their community with the character, respect, responsibility, leadership, sportsmanship, and integrity demonstrative of the NCAA Division II philosophy.
