PURPOSE
To recognize individuals and/or teams who have distinguished themselves in the field of intercollegiate athletics at Daemen University and Rosary Hill College, either by virtue of their performance on athletic teams representing the University, or by meritorious efforts on behalf of the athletic program or the University.
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTSÂ FOR FORMER STUDENT-ATHLETES
The Athletics Hall of Fame shall be open to individuals who meet the minimum requirements:

At least five (5) full academic years have passed since completing his/her/their athletic eligibility at the University.Â

Graduated from Daemen University or Rosary Hill College having earned either a bachelor's or master's degree.

Be of good character and reputation
-
Was a superior competitorÂ
In a addition to the above, a nominee must have made outstanding contributions in the following areas:

Had a significant impact in his/her sport
-
Community involvement and citizenship either during or post attendance
-
Have represented Daemen Athletics in a positive fashion both as student and as an alumnus
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTSÂ FOR TEAMS
The Athletics Hall of Fame has the option to give recognition to a team, as a group, for their accomplishments in a particular season. This is to honor the team and not qualify for individual induction. A team is eligible for induction five (5) years after the season of competition. Team nominations should meet at least one of the criteria below:Â Â

Won a national championship, or competed in a national championship event

Completed an undefeated season

Otherwise brought recognition and honor to the University by its significant achievement
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ATHLETICS CONTRIBUTOR
Individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the athletic program shall be eligible to be selected for the Hall of Fame. Potential nominees who fall in this category are eligible for consideration after he/she/they are no longer employed at Daemen University, and the nominee must have held a position at the University for at least five (5) years. Special admittance will be made only in recognition of truly exceptional contributions and service to Daemen Athletics. These individuals need not be graduates nor do they need to have been athletes. The nominee must be of good character and reputation and meet, at a minimum, two (2) of the following additional criteria:

A coach with a distinguished win/loss record

Community involvement and citizenship

Supportive of some aspect of the athletic program over an extended period of time
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
The Athletics Hall of Fame Committee recognizes that circumstances may prevent an individual from meeting the criteria listed above. With this, the Committee will entertain the nominations of such individuals who epitomize ideal characteristics for inclusion into the Daemen University Athletics Hall of Fame, but who do not meet the established criteria.
NOMINATION SUBMISSION
An online nomination form is available to be submitted electronically. The form may be completed by anyone with direct knowledge of the accomplishments and achievements of potential nominees.
SELECTION
The Athletics Hall of Fame Committee will thoroughly consider all timely nominations and will determine the inductees for a given year. Nominees receiving a majority vote in favor of induction will be inducted. There will be no limit on the number of nominees who will be inducted in a given year. Should no one meet the criteria, the Committee may decide not to hold an induction ceremony.
INDUCTION EVENT/CEREMONY
Daemen Athletics will host an induction event every two (2) to three (3) years. The HOF Committee has the discretion of increasing induction events in special circumstances that may coincide with a particular inductee. Â
A lunch or dinner will be held to honor the inductees. Former teammates of the inductees will be informed of the induction ceremonies and invited to be present. Current Daemen administration, athletic staff members, inductees and up to five (5) guests of the inductee will be free of charge. Additional tickets to the lunch or dinner will be available for purchase. The inductee will be responsible for any and all travel, accommodations and meals associated with said ceremony.
