Information For Visiting Teams & Spectators (Basketball)

HOME VENUE: LUMSDEN GYMNASIUM

Virtually all Daemen student-athletes utilize Lumsden Gymnasium in some capacity, and the facility serves as the home court for the men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams with a seating capacity for 1,000 spectators. Named for Charles L. & Gloria B. Lumsden, the gymnasium has hosted several high-profile events over the years, including the World University Games and Empire State Games, as well as being a practice site for the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Lumsden Gymnasium has been the site of several East Coast Conference Championship events as well as the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball East Regional and the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional.

LOCATION (4380 MAIN STREET, AMHERST, NY 14226 // GOOGLE MAPS) Lumsden Gymnasium sits within the greater Athletic Complex, situated adjacent to the Research and Information Commons and visible from the university's primary entrance off of Main Street. It is connected in the rear to Duns Scotus Hall.

BUS DROP OFF/PICK UP & PARKING Buses and/or team vans should enter campus from Main Street. There is a designated bus loading/unloading at Lot E, near the Peace Garden portion of the Saffrin Public Square. All loading and unloading of team buses/vans should occur there. Parking for team buses/vans is available in lots G & I at the north end of campus. Reserved parking for teams traveling by van may be available if requested at least seven days in advance.

LOCKER ROOMS Visiting teams will be assigned a locker room at Lumsden Gymnasium. Locker rooms will be reserved and available two hours prior to game time, the duration of the game and up to one hour after the game. Inside the locker room there will be a whiteboard with markers and lockers for your use. Please note that if your team chooses to shower after the game, NO towels will be provided. We ask each visiting team to be respectful of these spaces and to treat them as if they were their own.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION TICKET SALES Please note that tickets are required for all home Daemen basketball games and all ticket sales are conducted through Daemen's online ticketing system. No cash will be accepted on site. STUDENT/FACULTY/STAFF TICKETS All Daemen students, faculty and staff that present a Daemen All Sports Pass will be admitted to Daemen men's and women's basketball games at no charge. PARKING Spectators attending games at Lumsden Gymnasium should review the Daemen campus map and are encouraged to park in Lots A, D, M and N, as well as utilizing on-street parking available on both Main Street and Campus Drive. If using on-street parking along either Main Street or Campus Drive, please exercise caution at all times when entering and exiting your vehicle. Handicap parking is available in Lots C and E. Spectators should enter the gymnasium through the front lobby doors (Main Street side of the building). Pathways and signage will lead you in front on the Visual & Performing Arts Center and the Research & Information Commons to the Athletic Facility entrance. GATES OPEN Lumsden Gymnasium opens 60 minutes prior to tip-off of all men's and women's basketball games. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY Wheelchair accessibility is available on the court level. Please inquire with an usher or game day staff for seating location and request for companion folding chair if required. LUMSDEN GYM LOBBY SERVICES Ticket Sales & Digital Ticket Scanning Player Pass List (no pass lists for visiting teams) ATM Concessions Stand MISCELLANEOUS Lost & Found: Inquiries on lost and found items can be directed to the Lumsden Gymnasium reception desk located at the main entrance. Unclaimed items will be sent to the Campus Safety Office located at the John R. Yurtchuk Student Center. Restrooms: Located in the gymnasium lobby. Merchandise: Occasionally on sale during games at the concessions stand, dependent upon items in stock. Merchandise is always on sale via the Daemen Athletics Online Team Store. No Smoking: Daemen University is a non-smoking campus. Smoking is prohibited at Lumsden Gymnasium and everywhere on campus. Prohibited Items: Alcohol, Bottles, Artificial noise makers, firearms and other weapons are not permitted into the gymnasium. Solicitation: The selling or solicitation of any item by anyone other than university authorized personnel in and around Lumsden Gymnasium, including parking lots is prohibited.
