Hailey Dietrich, a former student-athlete at William Smith College and University at Buffalo staffer, was named the Student-Athlete Success and Community Engagement Coordinator at Daemen College in August of 2018.

Dietrich will play an integral role in the development of Daemen's growing number of student-athletes, from monitoring their academic progress and mental health, to overseeing the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and its initiatives. She will also coordinate a number of community service initiatives and several special events put on by the department for student-athletes throughout the academic year.

"We are thrilled that Hailey will be joining our staff," said interim athletics director Brandi Guerinot at the time of Dietrich's hiring. "Hailey brings a great passion for student-athlete well-being and programming. Her professional experiences and the commitment she will bring to our student-athletes will continue to provide them with support and development as they grow throughout their time at Daemen."

Dietrich comes to Daemen after a one-year stint as the student-athlete development assistant at the University at Buffalo, a role in which she supervised UB's SAAC, served as an advisor for Mid-American Conference initiatives, and helped coordinate the athletic department's diversity and inclusion and mental health awareness weeks. In addition to her experience at UB, Dietrich has also served as hall director in the department of student life at Canisius College, a post she held for two academic years.

A native of the Central New York city of Norwich, Dietrich was a three-year member of the women's basketball team at William Smith College. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from William Smith in 2016, and added a Master of Science Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from Canisius earlier this year.

Dietrich's position is partly funded by the NCAA Division II Strategic Alliance Matching Grant which has been awarded to Daemen from 2017-22.Â
