Kevin Telford

Dr. Kevin Telford joined the Daemen Athletics staff as the Faculty-Athletics Representative in January of 2017.  In this role, Dr. Telford works closely with the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Success to ensure Daemen's compliance with NCAA Division II and East Coast Conference rules and regulations, while also championing various programs for student-athletes to ensure their athletic and academic success at the university. 

Telford is an Associate Professor in the Modern Languages Department.  He received his Ph.D. in Romance Languages from The University of Georgia in 1992. He obtained his M.A. in French from The University of Georgia in 1987, and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Liverpool (U.K.) in 1985 with a B.A. (Honors) degree in French.

For more than 30 years, he has taught a wide variety of courses here at Daemen University, and previously at the University of Georgia in Athens.   He teaches all levels of French Language as well as upper division courses in Francophone Literature and Culture. He places particularly high value on teaching first year students in French and in Learning Communities.   Additionally, Telford has researched the novels of Nobel Prize winning author Patrick Modiano.

Telford enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling, and playing golf.  He enjoys all types of music and watches a lot of soccer!   Since 1970, has been a proud supporter of Everton FC, the original team from the city of Liverpool!  Nil satis nisi optimum!
