The 2020-21 season marks the second for Quinn Carey as an assistant coach on the Daemen women's basketball staff. In this role, he in involved with all aspects of the program, including on-floor coaching, scouting of opponents and recruiting. In addition, Carey is heavily involved with creation and management of the program's digital and social media content.Â
In his first season with the Wildcats, Carey helped lead the team to a 23-5 record, a share of the East Coast Conference regular season championship, the program's first East Coast Conference tournament championship and first NCAA tournament berth.Â
Carey is a 2019 graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego where he obtained a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and mass communication. While there, Carey competed for the Oswego men's basketball team, starting all 30 games during the 2018-19 season when he led the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and ranked 16th among the NCAA Division III national leaders with 93 three-point field goals. He was also named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
Before landing at Oswego, Carey began his collegiate playing career at Roberts Wesleyan College. In just two seasons, he became the Redhawks' all-time leader in three-point field goals, before moving on to attend SUNY Geneseo for one year. At Geneseo, he led the SUNYAC in three-point field goals during the 2017-18 season.Â
A native of Western New York, Carey split his high school years between here and Florida. He graduated from Ponte Vedra (Fla.) High School where he set the school record for career scoring and was a two-time All-County selection.Â
