Was a four-year varsity starter in volleyball while competing for the Berkeley Yellowjackets... was twice named to the All-West Alameda County Conference First Team... also earned three varsity letters for track and field... named a Scholar Athlete and Black Scholar... also competed in club volleyball, playing for Absolute Volleyball Club.

Born Semaj Tamaya Manuel on July 9, 2008 in Oakland, Calif.... daughter of James Manuel & Kimberlee Rock... has two siblings, Tehya & Kauri... mother, Kimberlee, played collegiate volleyball and basketball at Xavier University of Louisiana... father, James, played collegiate football at Southeastern Louisiana University... chose to attend Daemen because "of the close knit community and strong science programs. My coach is also such a warm soul and made me feel like I have a home away from home."
