Kelsey Gratien enters her sixth season as an assistant coach with the Daemen cross country/track and field teams in 2024-25. She is the wife of head coach Pete Gratien, and shares her knowledge and passion for running with the program's long distance runners.
Kelsey Gratien is an accomplished runner in her own right. As an undergrad, she led the cross country at Le Moyne College and was the ninth-place finisher at the Division II Northeast Region championship meet as a senior. She would go on to be named Le Moyne's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
Her running prowess didn't stop at the completion of her collegiate career. She's been recognized as the 2018 Buffalo News Runner of the Year, and she won the prestigious Buffalo Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day 2019.Â
After graduating from Le Moyne, Kelsey went on to earn her PhD in political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She works as a research insights consultant for Univera Healthcare.Â
