Laura Edholm, an athletics administrator with nearly 30 years of experience, has been named the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations at Daemen University, Vice President for Athletics Traci Murphy announced today. In this role, Edholm will provide administrative leadership and organizational support within the Division of Athletics, overseeing operational efficiency, budgeting and financial reporting, and sport supervision.

"We are incredibly fortunate to be welcoming Laura Edholm to our Wildcat family," Murphy said. "It's vital that the person in this position have a strong understanding of our strategic plan and how we can best utilize our resources to accomplish the goals we've established for our division. Laura's years of experience will be invaluable to that end, and I am looking forward to the perspective and leadership that she will bring to us."

Edholm comes to Daemen after spending the last two academic years at Hilbert College where she served in multiple roles. As Hilbert's Associate Athletic Director, she played a major role in the overall management and strategic planning of the Hawks' NCAA Division III athletics program, including sport supervision and budgeting. She also served as Hilbert's Title IX Coordinator, overseeing Title IX regulations and compliance for the entire Hilbert campus. In addition, she spent two seasons as the Head Men's Golf Coach, and played an integral role in the formation of Hilbert's women's golf program, which held its inaugural season in 2024-25, with Edholm serving as head coach.

Prior to her sint at Hilbert, Edholm spent more than 25 years in various leadership and coaching roles at Medaille College (later Medaille University). She served as a head coach for women's volleyball (1998-2005), softball (2009-16), women's bowling (2014-22) and men's golf (2021-22). As the Associate Athletic Director from 1998-2022, she was involved in all aspects of Medaille's NCAA Division III athletics program, including budget management and the allocation of resources, planning and executing home athletic events and the management of athletic facilities. She was promoted to Athletic Director in July of 2022, serving in that role until the university's closure in August of 2023.

"I am incredibly grateful to Traci Murphy for the opportunity to join Western New York's premier Division II team," Edholm said. "The chance to contribute and build upon the success of Daemen Athletics is truly exciting, and I can't wait to get started as a Wildcat."

A native of Vero Beach, Fla., Edholm is a graduate of the University of South Carolina-Coastal (now Coastal Carolina University) where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Recreation. While there, she was a dual sport student-athlete, competing in both volleyball and golf. She later added a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Medaille.

Edholm now resides in Tonawanda, N.Y. with her husband, John. Together, the couple has raised two adult sons, Tyler and Ryan.
