AMHERST, N.Y. - Senior volleyball player Brittany Anthon (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) and senior men's basketball player Uchechi Ogbonna (Westbury, N.Y./Erie CC) have been named the Bedore Tours Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

Anthon, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, led Daemen to an 8-1 record last month including the program's second consecutive United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship.  For the month, Anthon recorded four double-doubles and averaged 8.7 kills and 11 digs per match.

She led Daemen to a straight-sets victory over fourth-seeded SUNY Canton with 11 kills and 10 digs in the quarterfinal round of the USCAA tournament on Nov. 1.  In the title match vs. second-seeded Florida College on Nov. 2, Anthon helped the Wildcats repeat by posting nine kills and 12 digs.

As the Wildcats' season continued following the USCAA tournament, she recorded double-figure kills in the final four matches of the year - all East Coast Conference contests - including a 10-kill, 13-dig performance in the team's home finale - a straight-sets defeat of Mercy College on Nov. 10.

She later added back-to-back double-doubles in ECC road wins at Molloy College (Nov. 15) and Queens College (Nov. 16), notching a month-best 14 digs in both matches.

Ogbonna, a 6-foot-5 forward, helped the Wildcats get off to a 4-2 start to their season by averaging a double-double (11.3 points, 10.3 rebounds per game) last month.

He was named to the all-tournament team at Daemen's season-opening Knee Center of Western New York Tipoff Classic.  In a 111-90 win over Ohio Valley University on Nov. 8, Ogbonna made the first start of his career and responded with a 17-point, 14-rebound performance.  He added 10 points and a career-best 18 rebounds in the Wildcats' 59-56 defeat of Goldey-Beacom College the next day.

Ogbonna narrowly missed a third straight double-double after notching nine points and 11 rebounds during a 66-56 loss at the University of California-San Diego on Nov. 15.  With 15 points and seven rebounds on Nov. 23, Ogbonna helped Daemen erase a two-game slide while capturing the program's 25th consecutive home win and its first-ever defeat of Mercyhurst University in 15 tries.

Ogbonna currently ranks third in the ECC in rebounding (teammate Gerald Beverly ranks second at 10.8 rebounds per game) and third in field goal percentage, having knocked down 58-percent of his shots thus far this season (29-for-50).
