HOUGHTON, NY - The Daemen Wildcats completed a season sweep of their series vs. American Mideast Conference foe Houghton College on Tuesday night as they scored a 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-13, 25-19) over the host Highlanders. With the win, Daemen improves to 22-10 overall and 5-3 in AMC play. Houghton, meanwhile, falls to 5-15, 1-4.
With nine players registering at least one kill, it was a solid all-around team effort according to Daemen head coach
Mark Parisi.
"We really stayed focused for all three games and displayed our team strengths throughout the match," Parisi stated.
Freshman
Ye Wang led the way for Daemen with 12 kills. Next was sophomore
Jenn Karan with six and sophomore
Kaitlin Watchey with five.
Kaley Vazquez led an efficient Daemen offensive attack with 21 assists. Vazquez put her hitters in solid positions all night long as the team combined for a staggering hitting percentage of .457 in the match.

Katie Auge contributed 14 digs, 22 serve receptions without an error and a team-best 26 service attempts as Daemen was able to push their lead during Auge's serve rotation.
With tonight's match in the books. the Wildcats will enjoy a rare weekend off, their first weekend with no matches since the season began back in mid-August. They'll next take the court on Tuesday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Roberts Wesleyan for another key AMC matchup.
