Late Goal Sinks Daemen At Davis & Elkins

10/10/2012 8:09:00 PM

Box Score ELKINS, WV - The Daemen College women's soccer team's struggles continued today as the Wildcats dropped a 2-1 decision on the road to the Davis & Elkins Senators of NCAA Division II at River Bend Park.  The loss, the Wildcats' fifth straight, drops Daemen to 3-8 on the season, while Davis & Elkins improves to 9-1-2.

"We didn't play well and execute for the full 90 minutes, and you can't do that at this level and expect to get positive results," said Daemen head coach Dan Dolan afterwards.

Daemen did jump out to a 1-0 lead when freshman Kim Obermeier (Depew, NY/Depew HS) put home her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the seventh minute.

The lead was brief, however, as the Senators struck back with a goal by Taylor Morton in the ninth minute.

From there, the team's stood their ground and the score remained tied, until the Senators' Kristin Turshmann scored off a corner kick in the 88th minute to provide the final margin.

The Wildcats will look to snap their skid tomorrow when they travel to Sharonville, OH to face the Ohio Mid-Western Rams.
