Box Score SHARONVILLE, OH - The Daemen Wildcats got off the proverbial schnide today with a 3-0 road victory over the Ohio Mid-Western Rams.  With the win, Daemen snaps their five-game skid to improve to 4-8 on the season, while the Rams drop to 4-6.

Junior midfielder Alexa Amato (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island HS) got Daemen on the board in the 30th minute when she scored off a feed from freshman Jessica Zawadzki (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West HS).  Daemen led 1-0 at the half.

The second half saw the Wildcats put two more tallies as sophomore midfielder Selina Zaccaria (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East HS) scored her first career goal with an assist to freshman Kim Obermeier (Depew, NY/Depew HS) in the 60th minute.  Junior Samantha Engel (Dryden, NY/Dryden HS) made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute when she scored on a penalty kick.  The P.K. was awarded after sophomore Juli Prentice (Dryden, NY/Dryden HS) was hauled down in the box.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kayla Hampton (DeRuyter, NY/DeRuyter HS) made six stops to preserve the Daemen shutout, her second of the season between the pipes for the Wildcats.

Daemen looks to make it two wins in a row when they travel to West Virginia on Saturday to face the Alderson-Broaddus Battlers at 12pm.
