Molloy (10-10, 7-6 ECC)  24-35—57
Daemen (7-15, 4-12 ECC) 36-44—80

AMHERST, N.Y. – Sophomore Raeann Stilwell (Cheektowaga, N.Y./St. Mary's of Lancaster) scored 22 points and senior Lindsay Stoddard (Limestone, N.Y./Allegany-Limestone) recorded her second triple double of the season to lead Daemen College to an 80-57 victory over Molloy College here tonight in East Coast Conference women's basketball action.

Daemen completed the season-series sweep of Molloy and improved to 7-15 overall and 4-12 in the ECC. Molloy dropped to 10-10 overall and 7-6 in the league.

Stilwell, who scored 17 of her 22 points in the second half, has now scored in double figures in 18-straight games. Stoddard, who also recorded a triple double during a win at Mercy College earlier this year, finished with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Freshman Rachel Pawlak (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield) helped the Daemen cause, as she drilled two three-pointers and scored a career-high 12 points in 16 minutes off the bench.  Freshman Natalie Galus (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) added 10 points and nine rebounds, while fellow rookie Taylor Heinold (Hamburg, N.Y./Immaculata) also scored 10 points.

Junior Megan Lonergan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) paced the Lions with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.

A tightly played first half featured three ties and eight lead changes. Daemen took a 17-16 lead following a three-pointer by Pawlak midway through the half, but the Lions answered with back-to-back three-pointers by senior Kelly Guerriero (Floral Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Alexia O'Connor (Centerport, N.Y.) and took their largest lead of the half, 22-17, with 9:14 left before halftime. Neither team scored for the next two minutes, before a jumper by Pawlak sparked the Wildcats on a 13-0 run. A jumper by Stoddard with 3:47 left in the half capped the run and gave the Wildcats a 30-22 lead. Daemen took a 36-24 lead into the break.

Daemen held a 16-point lead, 47-31, five minutes into the second half and the teams traded baskets for the next five minutes before Molloy rallied with an 8-2 run. A three-pointer by Guerriero with 8:40 left capped the spurt and cut the Daemen lead to eight points, 55-47. The teams traded baskets for the next two minutes before a three-pointer by Stilwell sparked the Wildcats on a decisive 13-3 run. A layup by Galus with 2:34 to play capped the run and gave the Wildcats a 72-54 lead. Molloy came no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Daemen shot 43-percent (29-67) for the game, while the Lions connected on just 27-percent (23-85) of their shots. Molloy finished with a 54-52 edge in rebounds, while the Wildcats recorded 20 assists on 29 field goals. Daemen held the edge in points off turnovers (13-6) and fast break points (17-11).

Daemen returns to action Sunday (Feb. 9) when it hosts Queens College in an ECC game at 1 p.m. The Knights posted a 95-86 OT win at Queens earlier this year.
