GENEVA, Ohio - Competing in the The Buckeye State for the second time in the last three weeks, the Daemen College men's indoor track and field team finished in 11th place at the SPIRE Indoor Track and Field Challenge held at SPIRE Institute's Track and Field Building over the last two days. Daemen scored 12 points over the meet's 18 events in what was the Wildcats' first scored meet of the season.
Junior long distance runner
Jeremy Rushok (Akron, N.Y./Buffalo State College) paced the Wildcats today, earning five points for his fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Rushok established a new team record after completing the race in 15:47.38, narrowly edging the squad's previous best time (15:47.75) in the event set by former Wildcat Zach Eustance (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invite on January 31, 2014.
Sophomore
Kevin Roginson (Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) made the 5,000-meter run an eight-point event for the Wildcats as he earned three more by virtue of his sixth-place finish. Roginson ran the race in 16:07.17.
Junior thrower
Jonathan Dygert (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith) accounted for Daemen's remaining four points by finishing in fifth place in the weight throw with a long toss of 10.30 meters.
Next up for the Wildcats is the Colgate Class of '32 Invitational as first-year head coach
