For Communications Wildcat Keglers Suffer Defeat At Molloy Invitational MINEOLA, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team returned to tournament action for the first time since mid-October today by partaking in the Molloy College Lions Invitational held at Sheridan Lanes of Mineola. The Wildcats suffered five defeats today, falling to 10-16 overall this season. All five matches today featured Baker-style scoring. The day opened with a 903-833 loss to the tournament hosts, before the Wildcats dropped a 834-765 decision to Chestnut Hill College. A tight match with Roberts Wesleyan College followed, but the Redhawks emerged with a 770-765 win in what was Daemen's closest defeat since a three-point loss (768-765) to Thiel College on Oct. 18, 2015. The Wildcats closed the day with back-to-back defeats to Kutztown University (901-792) and St. Peter's University (838-655). Four of Daemen's five opponents today are ranked in the top-50 of the latest collegiate bowling RPI rankings, including Kutztown which is the highest of the group at No. 39. Sophomores Kaitlyn O'Hara (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) and Cassandra Johnson (Buffalo, N.Y./MSTP Seneca), along with freshmen Rachel Steele (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia), Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) and Megan Racinowski (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) comprised the Wildcats' lineup in all five matches today. Steele paced the squad with a 17.3 Baker scoring average. She was followed by O'Hara and Good who posted 16.7 and 16.2 Baker scoring averages, respectively. Daemen returns to action with five more matches tomorrow at the Molloy Baker Challenge, another tournament at Sheridan Lanes of Mineola.
