Kaitlyn O'Hara bowled a 222 game to lead Daemen to the second of iits three wins this evening

Wildcat Bowlers Sweep Roberts Wesleyan

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Competing at their home venue of Transit Lanes for the first time since mid-November, the Daemen College women's bowling team went sweep a trio of matches against Roberts Wesleyan College this evening.

Daemen outscored RWC in a pair of five-person team games to open the match, 765-639 and 749-658. Freshmen Rachel Steele (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia) and Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) paced Daemen in the first win of the night, compiling total pinfalls of 182 and 180, respectively. In the second, red-shirt sophomore Kaitlyn O'Hara (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) came through with a round of 222, the high-water mark of the day for Daemen.

O'Hara led the team with a total pinfall average of 193 in the two wins. Good and Steele posted pinfall averages of 165 and 162.5, respectively.

Play shifted to Baker system scoring (total pinfall) for the third match, which Daemen won 759-609. RWC out-bowled Daemen by five pins in the opening game (135-130), but the Wildcats rebounded to knock down 155 more pins over the final five games of the match.

The three wins this evening push Daemen's record to 14-20 this season. They also exacted some revenge for a 770-765 loss to the Redhawks in the first-ever meeting between the two teams on Feb. 25 at the Molloy Lions Invitational.

Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian), Cassandra Johnson (Buffalo, N.Y./MST Seneca) and Alecia Cultrara (Buffalo, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) also saw action for the Wildcats this evening.

Tonight's matches marked Daemen's final competitions before the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament which is slated for Mar. 24-26 in Keene, N.H.
