Women's Bowling 10/27/2018 4:51:00 PM By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications Wildcat Keglers Go 2-3 On Opening Day Of Medaille Invitational TONAWANDA, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team posted a 2-3 record in their return to action today at the Medaille College Invitational. The two-day tournament is being held at Classic Lanes, and the Wildcats picked up wins over the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (920-751) and Villa Maria College (846-771) today, while also suffering losses to Penn State Behrend (816-813), Roberts Wesleyan College (994-968) and tournament host Medaille (866-822). Today's results push Daemen's season record to 7-8. The Wildcats were paced today by sophomore Alex Syrotynski (East Greenbush, N.Y.) who recorded a pair of 200-games while posting a 198.0 scoring average over the five matches. Syrotynski carded a game of 202 vs. Penn State Behrend, and then went higher to 233 in the loss to Roberts Wesleyan. Junior Rachel Steele (Rensselaer, N.Y.) also turned in a solid effort for the Wildcats today, averaging 194.8 pins per game. Steele took home team-high honors for the day with her game of 258 in the Wildcats' win over Pitt-Bradford. Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) posted a 173.8 scoring average and joined Syrotynski and Steele as the only players to appear in all five matches today. Kaitlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.), Adrianna Pencek (Dunkirk, N.Y.), Kaitlyn O'Hara (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.) all saw action today for the Wildcats. Daemen returns to Classic Lanes for day two of the Medaille College Invitational tomorrow.
