Stasiuk defeated Le Moyne's Amica Benoit-Limosani (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Que.) in straight sets today (6-0, 6-4). In so doing, she matches the team record for singles wins in a season established by Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind.) during her senior campaign last year. The signature win came over one of Le Moyne's most experienced players, Benoit-Limosani, who was a third team All-Northeast-10 Conference selection last season. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the only other point they put on the board today came in first doubles where Stasiuk teamed with classmate Lorissa Yuen (Portland, Ore.) on an 8-4 victory Benoit-Limosani and Rithika Vajjiravelu (Chennai, Tamil Nadu). The Daemen duo has now won two straight doubles matches. Yuen leads the Wildcats with 12 doubles wins this season. Le Moyne improved to 15-5 on the season with the overall victory. Daemen, which has already matched the team record for wins in a season, fell to 9-11. The Wildcats close out a busy three-match weekend by visiting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference power Edinboro University tomorrow.Print Friendly Version
