Former Daemen Basketball Star Inks Overseas Pro Deal

AMHERST, N.Y. - Former Daemen College men's basketball player Supreme Hannah (Rochester, N.Y.) has signed a contract to continue his playing career at the professional level for SC Prometey, an expansion team that will compete in the Ukraine Higher League.

Hannah, a 2017 Daemen graduate, appeared in 107 games and made 65 starts over parts of five seasons for the Wildcats from 2012-17. The Wildcats went 107-42 over the course of his career.

The 6-foot combo guard bided his time as a freshman, appearing in 24 games and averaging 7.7 minutes and 4.0 points per game. He made the first five starts of his career as a sophomore, and increased his minutes per game to 13.5. It was his junior season (2014-15) that he really came into his own, quarterbacking the Wildcats to 21-10 season and averaging 10.5 points and 3.9 assists per game.

Hannah's 2015-16 season was cut short due to injury, but he rebounded to have the best season of his career in 2016-17. That year, he earned third team All-East Coast Conference honors after averaging 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He ended his collegiate career with 885 points, 220 rebounds and 267 assists.

"No one deserves this opportunity more than Supreme Hannah," said Daemen head coach Mike MacDonald. "He went from a guy who did not play very much his first two years of college, to a starter who battled injuries his last two seasons. He made himself into an all-conference player, and he continues to improve each day. He is as driven a player as you will see, and he was driven to become a pro in Europe. There is no doubt he will do whatever is necessary for his team to succeed and the entire Wildcat family is looking forward to following this next step as the evolution of Supreme Hannah continues."

Hannah, who spent the 2017-18 season playing professionally stateside with the Rochester Razorsharks, becomes the fifth former Daemen player to sign an overseas contract in the last four years. He joins former teammates Gerald Beverly (Telekom Baskets, Maccabi Rishon, Liege Basket, Germani Brescia Leonessa), Torrence Dyck (BC Boncourt Red, Olomoucko Prostejov, Island Storm, Niagara River Lions), Arif Mehmetaj (Golden Eagle Ylli) and Aleks Miljenovic (Kosarkaski Klub Dunav Stari Bonavci) as players formerly or currently playing in foreign countries.

"I'm excited for the opportunity that has been given to me," said Hannah in a text message from his new home in Ukraine. "Being part of a new team in the Higher League in Ukraine, the goal is to win immediately to help this team reach their goal of becoming a Super League team next season."
