Women's Soccer Included In Regional Poll For Fourth Straight Week

10/22/2019 2:33:00 PM

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's soccer team is the ranked 10th in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region poll, marking the fourth straight week they've garnered attention as one of the region's top teams. They made their first-ever appearance on Sept. 30 at No. 10, and spent the last two weeks at No. 9.

The Wildcats remain in the poll despite suffering back-to-back losses last week, results that dropped their overall record to 8-3-2. Daemen dropped a gut-wrenching 2-1 decision at Molloy College on Oct. 14 as they surrendered the go-ahead goal with less nine minutes remaining in regulation. That was followed by a 3-1 loss this past Saturday at nationally-ranked College of Saint Rose. The Golden Knights again top the regional rankings and are ranked No. 11 in the national poll this week.

Daemen returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 26 when they play host to longtime rival Roberts Wesleyan College in a key East Coast Conference contest.
