Campus-Wide Food Month Includes SAAC-Sponsored Food Drive 11/6/2019 10:24:00 AM Share: AMHERST, N.Y. - October was "Food Month" at Daemen College, a campus-wide initiative powered by the Paul A. Saffrin Center for Sustainability and Civic Engagement. Several efforts took place by various groups across campus, including a month-long food drive conducted by the Daemen Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The campus food drive connected people from various departments with the goal of donating items, both food and personal hygiene products, to make an impact in the Amherst community. All collected items will be donated to the Campus Care Cupboard and the Tigers Den, located just up Main Street at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Additional campus activities during "Food Month" included the grand re-opening of the Campus Care Cupboard located in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion on campus, the Word on Your Plate event which was a speaker workshop and lunch from the local harvest, as well as National Food Day which included giveaways of locally grown apples and educational materials.
