AMHERST, N.Y. - Junior forward Caroline White (Fairport, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played December 16-22. The official announcement of ECC awards was made in the league's weekly sport report which was released this afternoon from conference headquarters on Long Island.

White was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to wins over American International College (53-40) and the College of St. Rose (78-57), producing double-doubles in both contests which were played as part of the St. Rose Holiday Classic in Albany. For the week, White shot 46 percent from the field (13-for-28) and averaged 16.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. The pair of wins sends Daemen into the NCAA-mandated holiday break at 10-3 this season.

The Fairport High School product scored 12 points and equaled her career-high with 14 rebounds in Saturday's defensive tussle with AIC. Seven of her rebounds came at the offensive end, helping Daemen to a 13-9 advantage in second chance points, and she added two assists, two steals and a block to her stat line.

In Sunday's tournament capper vs. St. Rose, White totaled 21 points - one shy of her season and career-high - and 10 rebounds. She connected on 8-of-13 field goal attempts, including 2-of-4 from three-point range, marking her fourth game this season with multiple three-point field goals. It also marked her third double-double of the season, and the fifth of her career.

The announcement today marks White's first-ever ECC Player of the Week selection. She was a three-time ECC Rookie of the Week honoree during the 2017-18 season in which she appeared in all 29 games and averaged 8.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per outing.

White is producing career-high numbers for the Wildcats this season as she leads the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.2 rpg). She presently ranks second in minutes per game (34.5), third in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage (48.4) and seventh in rebounding among the ECC's leaders. In 68 career games, White has made 44 starts and totaled 626 points (9.2 ppg) and 357 rebounds (5.3 rpg). She's helped Daemen to a 40-30 overall record in her career, including wins in 24 of their last 29 games dating back to last January.

White and the regionally-ranked Wildcats are idle until January 10 when they return to ECC play by hosting Queens College at Lumsden Gymnasium.
