Wildcat Keglers Place Sixth At Bowling For A Kure Tournament

| By:
DOUGLASSVILLE, Pa. - The Daemen College women's bowling team finished with a total pinfall of 4,345 to place sixth out of eight competing teams today at the Bowling for a Kure Tournament. The two-day event, hosted by Kutztown University, wrapped up today at Jay Lanes. The Wildcats posted a 2-3 record across five Baker format tournament matches today.

The Wildcats were looking to build off yesterday's 899-814 win over No. 25 Kutztown, but suffered back-to-back losses at the outset today. Chestnut Hill College scored a 1,047-882 win in today's opener, and the Wildcats then got nipped by Felician University 887-866.

Coach Carrie Racsumberger's squad righted the ship with two straight wins, defeating rival Roberts Wesleyan College 833-792 and fellow East Coast Conference member Saint Thomas Aquinas College 859-625.

The final round of matches was determined by total pinfall standings. Sixth-place Daemen met fifth-place Felician, and the latter came away with a 943-905 win, despite Daemen's highest pinfall effort of the day.

Adrianna Pencek (Dunkirk, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats today with a 19.9 pins-per-frame average. She finished third among all tournament participants, and was named to the all-tournament team.

Pencek was supported by Alex Syrotynski (East Greenbush, N.Y.) and Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.) who posted 18.0 and 17.0 scoring averages, respectively.

Daemen finished the two-day tournament with a match record of 3-6, pushing their overall season record to 13-19.

Daemen returns to action next Sunday, Feb. 10 when they host Penn State Behrend for a trifecta of dual matches at Classic Lanes.
