Wildcats Split With Redhawks On Senior Day

LANCASTER, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team earned a split of two matches against rival Roberts Wesleyan College today at Lancaster  Lanes. The Wildcats opened the day's action with a 938-818 win in a traditional total pinfall match. The visiting Redhawks got even by defeating Daemen 892-802 in a Baker format total pinfall match.

Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.) and Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats today. Newberry posted a team-best 238 in the opening-match victory, while Good posted a 202. Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.) and Alex Syrotynski (East Greenbush, N.Y.) chipped in with games of 178 and 176, respectively.

Today's results push Daemen's record to 24-21 this season. RWC moves to 27-22. Daemen leads the all-time series with their rivals from Rochester 13-9. 

Today's match also marked Daemen's Senior Day. Graduating seniors Kaitlyn O'Hara (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and Cassandra Johnson (Buffalo, N.Y.) were each honored in a brief pre-match ceremony. O'Hara and Johnson have been with the program since its inception during the 2015-16 season, and they are the first four-year team members in program history.

Daemen will return to action Tuesday, March 19 with matches against crosstown rival Medaille College at Classic Lanes.
