Women's Bowling Competes For Conference Championship This Weekend 3/21/2019 9:37:00 AM By: By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team will compete for a conference title this weekend at the East Coast Conference Championship being held at Hiester Lanes in Wyomissing, Pa. The action gets underway tomorrow (Friday, Mar. 22) and runs through Sunday when the ECC champion will be crowned. The winner of this weekend's tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship which takes place April 11-13 in Wickliffe, Ohio. The tournament features a preliminary seeding round when things kickoff. The 13 participating teams will play a five-match schedule drawn at random, beginning at 9:20 a.m. Friday. The first round of double elimination tournament matches starts at 3:15 p.m. The first round of double elimination matches resumes at 8:25 a.m. Saturday. As the double elimination rounds continue, six teams will advance to Sunday's action which features double elimination rounds six through 10. Friday's matches can be viewed via live stream at the Daemen women's bowling Facebook page. Starting Saturday, matches can be seen live on the East Coast Conference Network. The Wildcats have won 14 of their last 17 matches, pushing their overall record this season to 25-22. Coach Carrie Racsumberger's squad is coming off a split of two head-to-head dual matches vs. crosstown rival Medaille College earlier this week. The Wildcats scored an 879-787 win a traditional match, but fell 4-2 in a Baker format best-of-seven series. Daemen placed fourth at the ECC Championship last season, the team's highest finish in conference tournament play.
