Titus, a 6-foot freshman forward, was named the ECC Rookie of the Year while also earning first-team All-ECC honors. Filbert was named to the All-ECC second-team, and Egan to the All-ECC third-team. The announcement of All-ECC teams was made this evening at the ECC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships banquet on the campus of the University of Bridgeport. Titus has played a leading role for the Wildcats, especially over the last two months when she's led the Wildcats to wins in 14 of their final 15 regular season games. She has shot 50-percent from the field (107-for-214) and averaged 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in that span. Titus becomes the first Daemen player to garner a major award from the ECC since the Wildcats joined the conference six seasons ago, and the first freshman to earn first-team All-ECC honors since Madison Rowland of Queens College in 2013-14. Titus has been named ECC Player of the Week twice this season, becoming the first player in team history to earn multiple ECC Player of the Week honors in the same season. She has also been a two-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week selection and a four-time ECC Rookie of the Week pick. She is the only ECC player to be named Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week. Titus has appeared in all 27 games this season and has made 19 starts. She is shooting 44-percent (131-296) from the field and leads the team in total points (335), points per game (12.4) three-pointers (42), total rebounds (196), rebounds per game (7.3) and blocks (35). She averaged a team-high 15.6 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds during Daemen's 18 conference games. She currently ranks first among ECC freshmen in points per game and second in rebounds per game. Titus is joined on the All-ECC first-team by Sasha Patterson of LIU Post, Samnell Vonleh of Bridgeport, Meg Knollmeyer of NYIT, Emily Miller of Roberts Wesleyan and Emily Preston of St. Thomas Aquinas. Filbert, a 5-foot-9 redshirt sophomore guard, is the only Daemen player to start all 27 games this season and she has scored in double figures 17 times. After averaging 8.7 points per game last season, Filbert has increased her production in 2018-19. She ranks second on the team in points per game (12.1) and three-pointers (39), and she leads the team in minutes played (797), assists (76) and steals (39). She ranks among the ECC's top-15 in field goals, three-pointers, assists, steals, total points and points per game. Filbert is joined on the All-ECC second-team by Ruth Adams of St. Thomas Aquinas, Amber Brown of Mercy, Shalie Frierson of NYIT and Ihnacinse Grady of Molloy. Egan is a 6-foot senior forward who has enjoyed the finest season of her career. After appearing in 66 games off the bench over her first three collegiate seasons, Egan has started 23 of the 24 games she's played this season, and has established new career-highs in nearly every statistical category. She ranks third on the team in scoring average (11.0), and also second in rebounds per game (6.5) and blocks (32). She leads the team and ranks fourth among the ECC leaders in field goal percentage (.484). Egan is joined on the All-ECC third-team by Taylah Hudson of LIU Post, Mia-Alexis Lloyd from District of Columbia, Kaitlyn Mahon of Queens and Natasha Roy from District of Columbia. In addition to Titus' Rookie of the Year selection, the ECC handed out major award to LIU Post's Patterson (Player of the Year) and Bridgeport's Vonleh (Defensive Player of the Year). Kim Lusk of ECC regular season champion St. Thomas Aquinas was named the league's Coach of the Year. Daemen (18-9, 15-3) will open play at the ECC Championship tournament this weekend. The Wildcats earned the tournament's No. 2 seed, and will face third-seeded NYIT in tomorrow's semifinal round. Tip-off is slated for 2:30 p.m. at Bridgeport's Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium.
