Women's Tennis Falls In Florida Opener

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daemen College women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Embry-Riddle University in a non-conference match held at the Crotty Tennis Complex today.

Daemen, which was competing for just the second time this spring, saw their overall record drop to 1-11 this season. The Wildcats had been idle since a 6-1 loss at Mercyhurst University on February 16. Today's match was the first of three in as many days for the Wildcats who are touring Florida this week.

Embry-Riddle ran their winning streak to six-straight matches, improving to 8-1 this season. The Eagles are affiliates of the powerful Sunshine State Conference, which traditionally produces several of the top collegiate tennis teams within NCAA Division II.
