Daemen Men's Basketball To Pause All Team Activities

1/15/2021 11:45:00 AM

The Daemen College men's basketball team has paused all team activities, effective immediately, following a positive COVID-19 test result within the team's Tier 1 personnel. For the purposes of health and safety protocols related to COVID-19, the NCAA defines Tier 1 personnel as student-athletes, coaches, team managers and support staff.

In accordance with protocols established by the NCAA and the East Coast Conference, the team will pause for 10 days. This pause will result in the postponement of scheduled games against Mercyhurst University (Saturday, Jan. 16) and D'Youville College (Friday, Jan. 22 and Sunday, Jan. 24).

The 10-day pause ensures that the team's Tier 1 personnel will meet the recommended isolation and quarantine guidelines set forth by state and local governments, as well as Daemen College, in order to keep all personnel healthy. The team will resume activities after all personnel are cleared through Daemen's COVID-19 protocols.

The team's next scheduled game is Friday, Jan. 29 when they host Gannon University for a 6 p.m. tip-off. Stay tuned to daemenwildcats.com for further updates.
