The official announcement of weekly awards was made in the ECC's weekly sport report which was released this afternoon. DeLappi made three saves in Daemen's 3-0 victory over ECC newcomer Staten Island this past Saturday afternoon. The win kept the Wildcats (7-4-1, 6-0-1 ECC) as the last unbeaten team in ECC play this season. It also marked DeLappi's third shutout of the season and the fourth of her career. DeLappi has played a major role in the Wildcats' success. She's started all 12 contests between the pipes and has totaled 61 saves and posted a save percentage of .803 this season. DeLappi earned prior shutout victories over Mercyhurst and Roberts Wesleyan, and made a season-high 11 saves vs. Stonehill on October 7. She was previously named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week for September 8-12. As a team, Daemen has allowed just 15 goals all season and the Wildcats rank third in the ECC with a 1.23 goals against average. In addition, junior forward Tayjana Scalisi (Williamsville, N.Y.) was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll after netting a pair of goals in Saturday's victory. It marked the second multi-goal game of the season for Scalisi who ranks second among the ECC leaders in goals (7), assists (5) and points (14). DeLappi, Scalisi and the Wildcats return to action Tuesday, October 26 when they host Clarion in a non-conference game at 6 p.m. Daemen College features the premier NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 18 intercollegiate teams.
