AMHERST, N.Y. - With 16 wins in their last 18 matches, the Daemen College women's volleyball team is ranked No. 4 in the third NCAA Division II East Region poll of the 2021 season which was released this afternoon at ncaa.com. The East Region of NCAA Division II is comprised of teams from the East Coast Conference, Northeast-10 Conference and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, and the regional rankings are used to determine at-large bids and seeds in the East Regional portion of the NCAA tournament following the respective conference tournaments this month.

The Wildcats jumped one position in the regional poll after sitting at No. 5 for the last two weeks. No. 1 American International, No. 2 Stonehill and No. 3 Holy Family sit ahead of Daemen.

This week's poll also includes No. 5 Jefferson, No. 6 Bentley, No. 7 New Haven, No. 8 Southern Connecticut State, No. 9 Saint Anselm and No. 10 Adelphi. Daemen owns an in-region record of 18-4, including a 3-1 victory over No. 2 Stonehill.

Daemen sits at 20-7 overall this season, and their 12-0 conference record allowed the Wildcats to clinch their third ECC regular season championship as well as the No. 1 seed in the ECC Championship tournament. The ECC Championship comes to Lumsden Gymnasium for a third time with semifinal matches set for this Friday evening, followed by Saturday afternoon's tournament final. Game times and ticket information were announced yesterday. The winner of this weekend's tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Daemen opens postseason play by facing fourth-seeded Molloy in the ECC Championship semifinals. A full match preview will be posted to daemenwildcats.com on Thursday.

The NCAA will announce the 64-team tournament field, regional seeds and host sites in a selection show at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 22.
