KENMORE, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team wrapped up day two of the Medaille Brunswick Invitational at Classic Lanes today and placed fifth out of the eight competing teams in the tournament's total pinfall standings.
The Wildcats entered today's action in fourth place after posting a total pinfall of 4.296 in five traditional matches. Daemen added 2,614 pins in three Baker format matches to start today, and ended in fifth place following two positional round matches. Roberts Wesleyan posted a total pinfall of 7,117 and edged tournament host Medaille (7,603) in the final positional round match to claim the tournament title.Â
Daemen dropped its first three matches of the day, falling to D'Youville (1,008-809), Medaille (1,038-952) and Walsh (886-853), but righted the ship with wins in their positional round matches. The Wildcats knocked off Penn State Behrend (876-777) and Walsh (921-897) to close out the tournament.
The Medaille Brunswick Invitational marked the third tournament of the 2021-22 season for the Wildcats. Daemen's overall record sits at 14-15.
Junior Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) was named to the all-tournament team after placing fifth in the individual total pinfall standings during yesterday's traditional matches. Bartosz knocked down 990 pins, good for a team-high 198.0 average.Â
Daemen will return to action next weekend at the Falcon Fall Classic hosted by Felician.
