AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team capped off a busy four days by hosting Mercyhurst College and Roberts Wesleyan College in a tri-match today at Manor Lanes II.

The Wildcats opened the day with an 815-803 loss to Mercyhurst, before rebounding with an 860-819 victory over Roberts Wesleyan. Both matches were scored using the Baker total pin format. The Wildcats are now 3-5 on the season.

Mercyhurst held a 24-pin lead (670-646) after four games, and the Lakers held on for the win despite the Wildcats posting a 157-145 win in the fifth and final game. Daemen came out strong against rival Roberts Wesleyan, as the Wildcats posted a 219-181 win in the opening game. The Daemen lead was up to 81 pins (567-486) after the hosts prevailed in games two (194-155) and three (154-150). The Redhawks won games four (168-141) and five (164-158), but it was not enough to overcome the Daemen lead.

Daemen had posted five-straight wins over Roberts Wesleyan before the Redhawks registered a 1,021-982 win this past Thursday during a quad-match hosted by Medaille College. Daemen has now prevailed in six of the last seven meetings and the Wildcats own a 19-13 lead in the all-time series.

Daemen returns to action Wednesday  (Feb. 24) when it host a quad match at Allie Brandt Lanes in Lockport, N.Y.
