The Wildcats, who will have covered more than 900 miles by the time they arrive back on campus this evening, dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play following today's setback. The three-time defending ECC champion Queens Knights evened their overall record at 4-4 while remaining unbeaten in conference play (3-0). It was Queens' third victory over Daemen this season - all coming in the last nine days. Hugo Evangelista and Francisco Gonzalez earned wins in both singles and doubles play to lead the Knights today. They teamed together for a 6-1 win on the No. 3 doubles court before earning their singles wins, Evangelista on the No. 4 court (6-4, 6-1) and Gonzalez on the No. 6 court (6-0, 6-0). The overall loss came despite another solid doubles outing from Daemen's Ben Davis (Rochester, N.Y.) and Sam Greco (Amherst, N.Y.). On the No. 1 doubles court, the Daemen duo bested Mariano Bibiloni and Kareem Rashad in a 6-4 match. Davis and Greco are now 4-2 as a pair this season, and today's win was their third against the highly-touted Knights. The Wildcats will be back in action with a pair of non-conference matches this week as they visit RIT (Wednesday, April 21) and Edinboro (Thursday, April 22).
