Daemen Student-Athletes Post 3.32 GPA For Spring 2021 Semester

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Spring 2021 semester was a success for the Daemen College Division of Athletics with student-athletes achieving a collective 3.32 grade point average (GPA). It marks the 16th consecutive semester that student-athletes have achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher, and the second-highest GPA since recording academic stats became commonplace several years ago.

The academic performance includes a record 19 student-athletes who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester. Those with perfect semesters are from a broad cross section of the student-athlete body with 11 of Daemen's intercollegiate athletic programs represented. Teams with 4.0 student-athletes include cheerleading, women's basketball, women's bowling, women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, men's cross country, men's soccer, men's tennis, men's track and field and men's volleyball.

A total of 148 student-athletes individually achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the semester. That represents 74% of Daemen's total student-athlete body. In addition, 102 student-athletes (51% of total) achieved a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher - up from 41% of student-athletes last fall. At the conclusion of the Spring 2021 semester, 151 student-athletes (73% of total) now hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, including two with a 4.0.

Also, 14 of Daemen's intercollegiate athletic programs achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better:
