Racsumberger Named Greater Buffalo Adult Female Bowler of the Year 8/25/2021 11:00:00 AM AMHERST, N.Y. - Carrie Racsumberger, head women's bowling coach at Daemen College, has been named the Adult Female Bowler of the Year by the Greater Buffalo United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Association. The award was presented at the organization's 2021 Kickoff Tournament held last week at Transit Lanes in Williamsville. The Greater Buffalo USBC Association Adult Female Bowler of the Year is awarded based on an intricate point system that tracks the performance of the area's high-level keglers throughout the traditional bowling season. It has been awarded each year since 2005-06, and was predated by the Buffalo Women's Bowling Association Bowler of the Year award which dates back to 1983-84. This marks the first Adult Female Bowler of the Year honor for Racsumberger who also placed first in the Women's Scratch Division of the 2021 Kickoff Tournament. The author of fifteen 300 games in her lifetime, Racsumberger has a resumé chalked full of bowling accomplishments. She's won numerous state and local championships, including the Western New York Queens title. "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to bowl, compete and have fun during a global pandemic," Racsumberger said after receiving the award. "This year has certainly been full of many pivots. Having a sport to compete in has been an outlet for relieving stress. There are so many veteran and young talented bowlers in Buffalo and the surrounding area, I am truly honored to receive this award." Racsumberger will enter her fourth season leading the Daemen women's bowling program later this fall. She's led the Wildcats to 74 victories in her tenure, including a single-season program-record 40 wins during the 2019-20 campaign. This past season, she guided the group to their first-ever appearance in the final round of the East Coast Conference Championships. Racsumberger, who holds degrees from both Daemen and Empire State College, is also a recent graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy WeCoach program, and she works full-time as the graduate medical education administrator at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Daemen College features the premier NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 18 intercollegiate teams.
