AMHERST, N.Y. - Senior Katie Titus (Penfield, N.Y.) totaled 31 points, nine rebounds and five steals to lead the regionally-ranked Daemen College women's basketball team to a 73-48 victory over The College of Staten Island tonight at Lumsden Gymnasium on the Daemen campus.

Daemen opened the game with a three-pointer by Titus and never tailed after that. The Wildcats held a 9-6 lead halfway through the first quarter and later took their first double digit lead of the game, 17-6, after Titus swished two free throws with 2:21 left in the frame. CSI responded with back-to-back three-pointers and the Wildcats would take an 18-14 lead into the second quarter. Daemen would take a 13-point lead, 38-25, into the break.
Daemen maintained a double-digit lead the entire second half, and a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter secured the win for the Wildcats. Sophomore sophomore Kaytlyn Matz (Johnsburg, Ill.) and Titus hit back-to-back three-pointers to ignite the run, and a layup by redshirt senior Tiara Filbert (Batavia, N.Y.) with 2:11 left capped it and gave the hosts a 68-46 lead.
